In this video, Arnfinn Helleve and Maria João Gregório, the leaders of the Work Package on Regulation and Taxation (WP5) in JA PreventNCD, explain how their team is advancing effective, evidence-based regulatory and fiscal measures that promote healthier environments and reduce health inequalities. The work package focuses on:

• Mapping existing health-related legislation
• Promoting healthier food environments and product reformulation
• Strengthening regulation of tobacco, alcohol, and environmental hazards
• Supporting smarter, equity-focused policy decisions across Europe

By challenging harmful commercial influences and reshaping environments, the regulation and taxation team helps make prevention a practical and sustainable reality.
