Introduction to Health in all Policies (WP9)

How can we ensure that all sectors—not just health—contribute to the prevention of cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs)?

In this video, Eeva Ollila and Gígja Gunnarsdóttir, leaders of the work package on Health in all Policies (WP9) in JA PreventNCD, explain how they are strengthening the implementation of the Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach across different levels of governance in Europe. The work package focuses on:

• Integrating health considerations into all sectors and policies
• Linking public health goals with broader policy agendas
• Addressing the wider determinants of health, from environment to education
• Building cross-sectoral partnerships for sustainable change
• Promoting systems-level thinking for better health outcomes

By embedding health into every part of policymaking, the team is helping to build stronger, more resilient societies—where healthier choices and environments become the norm.
