About the Event
The Icelandic Directorate of Health organises the Wellbeing Economy Forum with support from the EU health programme.
Aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Jakobsdóttir, who also serves as the WHO Champion for the Wellbeing Economy Initiative, the forum stands as a beacon for change in our economic system, for it to operate within safe environmental limits and to prioritise the collective wellbeing of both current and future generations.
With an emphasis on the wellbeing economy framework, the forum will serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration among politicians, policymakers, business leaders, academics and practitioners worldwide.
Our aim is clear: to foster an environment where diverse perspectives converge with a shared commitment to crafting sustainable wellbeing for all. In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we recognise the imperative of interdisciplinary cooperation and holistic solutions to address the multifaceted challenges of our time.
We will have distinguished speakers who will engage in discussions ranging from integrating wellbeing priorities into public budgeting to exploring the nexus between health and prosperity, alongside sessions on statistics, measures of sustainability, and the role of government and the economy in driving change.
